sustainability

“Sustainability creates and maintains the conditions under which humans and nature can exist in productive harmony, that permit fulfilling the social, economic and other requirements of present and future generations.”

Environment

Raw materials sustainably produced and mainly locally sourced.

Saponification carried out at low temperature; soap cure done at ambient temperature, in a very low energy process.

Our products are palm oil free, vegan and 100% biodegradable.

Our packaging uses 100% recycled paper.

People-Society

Our products are handmade and hand wrapped.

We believe that the handcraft character of our products meets the needs of those looking for a natural, unique, high quality soap, that is environmentally and skin friendly.

Culture

Being produced in Porto, from Portuguese olive oil, our products aim to spread some of the beauty and heritage from its origin. Portuguese tiles are colourful, bold and unique. They come in a wide variety of colours and patterns, more floral, or more geometric, more ancient or more modern, bringing character and life to our cities.

We hope that wrapping our products in these inspiring patterns helps in a small way to preserve our tiles and spread its beauty.

Soap

“Soap is probably the oldest skin cleanser. For thousands of years, this product has been obtained from the saponification of oils and fats by alkali. As is true for most human discoveries, the first chemical saponification was found by chance. According to a Roman legend, soap was discovered accidentally near Mount Sapo, an ancient location for animal sacrifices not far from Rome. The animal fat, mixed with wood ashes (the ancient source of alkali) and rainwater, created an extraordinary soap mixture.”
